Serious question: If your favorite driver perished in a racing accident, would you yourself continue to follow auto racing afterwards?... You'd be surprised how many people's answer would be no.

2 of my friends in my old racing group had to answer that question themselves. The Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan did continue. But the Jason Leffler fan did not.

In 2009, I almost had to answer that question myself...
