Joseph Rodefer DeCamp was an American Portrait artist who developed his skills into one of the most respected Painters of his day. Even with the great loss of artworks from the (studios) at the Harcourt building fire of November 11th, 1904, DeCamp triumphed with a heroic effort to produce more works at a reduced fee in order to reestablish what was lost. His skill was always respected among artists who longed to see his work for the craftsmanship and draughtsmanship he displayed. A remarkable career.
