The Gospel of Matthew emphasizes that being childlike can give us a special encounter with God. This childlike attitude, which is free of any bias and full of pure innocence, is better when it comes to accepting God and His kingdom. A child is dependent on others, which is another trait that God is looking for in His people. He wants us to depend on Him because He can provide anything that we need and deserve as a reward from Him. When we depend on Him as well, we are showing Him how much we trust Him to be the anchor of our lives.
