You can’t use imaging and you can’t use palpation soreness to diagnose patellar tendinopathy. Often, it is patellofemoral pain. Use these seven signs to help:
1) Pain Location
2) Levels of Flexion
3) Jumping/Running (which hurts)
4) WarmUp Effect (PT, yes. PFP, maybe not)
5) Hopping Mechanics
6) Look at Them
7) Heavy Isometric Response
