The Gospel of Luke reminds us of the very important role John the Baptist had during Jesus' time on Earth. He prepared the way for the Lord and baptized Him when the right moment came, making people see the glory and love of God for us, His people. He has given His only Son, Jesus, so we would be saved from our sins. John was born to his family and was a great surprise, which shows us that God has His own mysterious ways for each of our lives, surprising us with what great things He can do for us. Today's feast calls us to praise God for His perfect plans for His people and for letting us know about the greatest mission of John the Baptist's life, which is to prepare Jesus for us.
