Failing in his trials to ascend as a member of the Death Guard Legion, Kaleb found new purpose serving thew 14th Legion as a Housecarl of its 7th Company Battle Captain.

Forming a bond of camaraderie with Nathaniel Garro as the remainder of the Death Guard balked at his mere presence, Arin's actions proved to be crucial in preventing calamity during the opening stages of the Horus Heresy.
