First outing, a month ago, and there was no wind, this time there was wind but drizzle too. It seems the weather Gods are conspiring against us. Weather forecasters don't help either; it appears that the more Cray XC40 supercomputers, satellites and radiosondes they use the worse are their forecasts!

In any case, the video camera got a little wet so you may see the blurry water drops on the lens at times. Poor light meant a limited depth of field and the need to up the image saturation levels on the 1080P, 50fps video edit.

It was the first flight for my fluorescent Karei, a kit model from Jérém Aéro, with my pair of 10W pink (i.e. red/blue) grow l.e.d.s and while it soared away easily on launch it needed some extra down elevator compensation adjustment on crow braking and thermal flap to stop it from zooming up so much as I had not dialled in enough. The 25mW 868MHz Crossfire module in my Radiomaster running OpenTX worked well.

The wind was crossed by about 20º on the bowl; it was a little turbulent at the edge of the slope because of it. Nevertheless, it flew successfully and I look forward to a better day in the future when the weather improves. My Karei is a very nice lightweight 2,5m model at 1450g but I've yet to explore its full potential in better 'lifty' conditions on a warm Spring or Summer's day.
