On Friday, 12 July, the court adjourned the hearing on Yediyurappa's petition seeking the quashing of a POCSO case against him. The next hearing is scheduled for 26 July. In a significant relief for Yediyurappa, the court exempted the veteran BJP leader from personally appearing before a Bengaluru court on 15 July. This decision came after a summons was issued by the Fast Track Court 1 for POCSO Act cases on 4 July, requiring Yediyurappa to appear in court.
The single judge bench of Justice Krishna S Dixit stated, ""Request for adjournment is allowed. The learned judge of the court below is requested to grant exemption for the day, on the next date of hearing till any other day, till this matter is taken up for hearing on July 26.""
