This video provides a demonstration of a kernel density estimation of biting flies across a Texas study site using the Heatmap tool in QGIS and the use of Optimal Bandwidth (hopt) calculation in LibreOffice Calc. You will also use the Spatial Point Pattern Analysis toolbox in QGIS SAGA for this demonstration. Please note, I make a spoken error and call the 1/4 power a square root. This was a spoken error.
