When it comes to killing aphids its fairly easy. My first recommendation is to use a combination of soap and water. You can apply liberally and wash the aphids off or you can let the dish soap do the killing. It's recommended to return and repeat this process every 3 days until aphid activity is gone. I find this takes about three to four weeks.

The second recommendation is to use diatomaceious earth. This dust is organic and does a great job when applied liberally. You can use a duster as i have in the video or you can apply it by hand. My suggestion is to do a light water misting of your plants prior to applying the dust. Be sure to wear a mask as this dust gets every where. It's important to treat underneath the leaves of the plants considering that's where the aphids commonly are.

The third recommendation is to use an green based insecticide spray called mirimichi green pest control. This pesticide is made with a combination of oils. It works and smells great. Mirimichi green should be re applied every week or two depending on severity for 3 or 4 weeks.

The fourth option is to use an insecticide spray like permethrin, bifenthrin or pyrethrins. I prefer this method. Use the label rates for aphids on the product and mix with the labeled rate of water. I commonly do two sprays two weeks apart to solve aphid issues.

Keep in mind its not uncommon to have ants when you have a large aphid population. These products will also help control the ants.
