Kinetic Wall at Geneva Motor Show- Interactive Kinetic Installation (Temporary)

Kinetic Wall is a temporary interactive and kinetic installation designed for the 88th Geneva International Motor Show in 2018. Teaming up with our partners, we created an innovative and engaging experience to unveil the new Spanish firm model: the Ateca.

In a digital installations crowd, this piece of kinetic art brought Cupra booth to life and became a real attraction among the other Motor Show's activations.
Whether no one was standing in front of the facade, the installation performed a set of preprogrammed choreographies showing the media's expressive potential. Whenever a person approached the wall, it turned interactive and reacted, opening seethrough "portholes" to unveil the car behind.

The wall moved thanks to 139 stepper motors and customdesigned motion controllers hidden into the frame. People's actions were detected by two Kinect sensors placed at the top of the facade; all the images were collected and computed in real time to allow lagless responsiveness.
