King Charles set out the new Labour government's ambitious legislative agenda on Wednesday, aimed at reviving the economy and addressing pressing issues such as housing shortage and the cost of living crisis.

"My ministers will get Britain building, including through planning reform, as they seek to accelerate the delivery of high quality infrastructure and housing," he said.

The government's plan, outlined during the grand state opening of Parliament, includes over 35 bills focusing on economic growth, infrastructure development, and job creation.

The King's Speech, written by the government, also tried to set a new tone to British politics, promoting service rather than self interest, something that Labour says took root over 14 years of often chaotic Conservative Party rule.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer won one of the largest parliamentary majorities in modern British history on July 4, making him the most powerful national leader since former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair.
