The Airmen of Note performed Jelly Roll Morton's composition King Porter Stomp at The Library of Congress on February 12, 2024. Jelly Roll Morton was born in New Orleans, LA and is one of the greatest composers and piano players of jazz music. Morton coined this tune "the outstanding favorite of every great hot band throughout the world." King Porter Stomp was written in 1905, first recorded over 100 years ago, and is the first "stomp" in the history of jazz.
