After some struggles of our yesterday's ride from Kolkata to Raiganj our morning began at Raiganj surrounded by thick fog. Today's plan is to cover a 325 km distance between Raiganj to Alipurduar and rest in Badal Bina Resort at Damanpur, a few kilometers before Alipurduar. Seems a comparatively easy ride and lesser distance to cover. However, there was only around ten meters visibility when when we started from Raiganj 7:30 in the morning due to fog. Naturally, we could not pick up the speed. But thanks to the well maintained bypass roads of Islampur and Dalkhola we were on time. Few kilometers before Bagdogra, from Ghoshpukur we took the Phulbari bypass road to avoid the hassles of Siliguri. Through the lush green tea gardens and along the Mahananda barrage canal, this bypass road is scenic and well maintained. On this bypass a friend of ours came to meet us from Siliguri. Spent some wonderful moments of much awaited reunion. The bypass road ended at Phulbari bus stand from where we followed the route Jalpaiguri, Maynaguri, Dhupguri, Gairkata, Birpara, Madarihat (Entrance of Jaldapara National Park), Hasimara, Damanpur.
