Kraken Reefing

John Camp

Another vessel sunk by the State of Texas as an artificial reef. January 20, 2017. The Kraken is 371 feet long sunk in 140FSW, and it stayed upright on the bottom. This is as seen from the M/V Fling about 11 or 12 miles N of Stetson Bank. The numbers are on the TPWD artificial reef site. Half the size of the Texas Clipper, but nearer to civilization and maybe a little safer. Maybe.

The state folks shot lots of great angles with drones, handhelds and cameras mounted directly on the Kraken, but this is an uninterrupted view. The official video jumps around fairly quickly.
