Today I'm here to answer a question that many people ask me all the time: How to become a Krav Maga black belt, the Israeli Army's Self Defense? Today you will find that answer!

I decided to tell you about my way from white belt to black belt, but I will also take the opportunity to do something special with my belts that will materialize this video. After all, few get there! We are only 57 black belts in 30 years of Krav Maga in Brazil. But my trajectory will show that it is possible for you to put this belt on your waist with dedication and a lot of training!

Since I was a child, I was interested in fights, martial arts, I tried several: from a kid to a teenager I did Judo, Karate, Capoeira, but I didn't continue because I didn't find one that I identified myself completely.
Until in 2002, when I was 27, my history with Krav Maga started.

One morning I was finishing my workout and I was walking to an area of ​​bars and parallels, and next door, on the football field of my Army Unit, there was a Krav Maga class. I stopped and watched and immediately liked it, because I saw that the technique was extremely simple, with fast, explosive movements, all trying to reach sensitive parts of the aggressor. Everything I imagined seeing in selfdefense was materialized there. In the other class I was enrolled.

My first Instructor soon told me about the technique, the Creator, Imi Lichtenfeld, which was used by the Israel Defense Forces and other elite troops in the world, which had been brought to Brazil in 1990, by a student of the Creator, who was then Master Kobi Lichtenstein. Other than that, I got to know the South American Federation of Krav Maga, seeing that there was a serious structure in that, that he was not a person without history and without background, as we see a lot there today. Just imagine, the Creator's student bringing the technique here.

FSAKM is the largest Krav Maga Federation in the world and is present in 5 countries, 19 states in Brazil, and has 241 instructors. There are more than 14,000 active students, not to mention the public and private security forces.

The teaching of Krav Maga for civilians follows the grading system by colors, as is common in other fight style. The courses in the world of security do not follow this scheme.
Following the division by bands, we can divide the teaching into 2 parts: the first, which goes from the white belt to the green belt, where selfdefense techniques are learned; that is, the basics for you to know how to defend yourself from practically all the most common types of aggression.
The second part goes from the blue belt to the black belt, where you learn the techniques of handtohand combat, military combat techniques and much more complex exercises, and not so common. That's why this division.
