The Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum located in Accra was
built in 1991 by Jerry Rawlings.
The park, which sits at the Old Polo Grounds covers an area of 5.3 acres, where Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, flanked by his comrades declared Ghana’s independence on March 6, 1957 before a huge ecstatic crowd. It is the final resting place of the exPresident and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah.
Currently Work is ongoing on the rehabilitation and modernisation of the Memorial Park in Accra, Which is dedicated to Dr kwame Nkrumah who laid peacefully in 1992.
