Lockheed L1011 Tristar is a threeengine widebody airliner developed by Lockheed in the early 1970s. The third widebody passenger aircraft in the world after the Boeing 747 and McDonnell Douglas DC10. The L1011 became one of the most advanced aircraft of its time and, in a way, its technical advancement became the cause of its own collapse.
