Todd McBride, the sales and marketing manager for Rosenbauer America, introduces the all new RTX, a firetruck with an electric portion and a diesel range extender. When the batteries reach 20%, the range extender will kick in and recharge the batteries in as little as 45 minutes, extending operation for another 46 hours. The truck also has an adjustable air suspension that allows for different ground clearances for various conditions, such as driving, offroad, wading, and fording. The cab of the truck has been designed to feel like a command center and has no engine tunnel. The truck also has a number of features to improve safety and convenience for firefighters.
