I spent a wonderful academic year living in Duluth, MN from 2015 16, and got to experience my first real winter. Really cool things happen when the temperatures drop below 0 F and the top few inches of Lake Superior freeze over. This is a short video of the ice being blown towards the Duluth shoreline, with some spectacular fracturing/ stacking/ imbrication of the ice plates.... Great analogy for thinskinned imbricate thrust sheets (if you're a geology nerd like me). The sounds are pretty amazing too.
