On December 7th, 1927 the Canadian package freighter SS Kamloops vanished during a snowstorm on Lake Superior northwest of Isle Royale. For nearly 50 years her fate remained a mystery until the discovery of her wreck in 1977 offered a window into the grizzly fate of the Kamloops and her crew.
