Lamb Tava is a classic Cypriot dish. Similar versions can be found in Greece and Turkey.
Tava refers to the clay pot the dish is traditionally cooked in. There are different variations on this dish some make it with rice instead of potatoes and some make it with rice and potatoes. I just use potatoes.
Cumin and cinnamon are traditionally used in this recipe. Some people don’t use cinnamon in this, but I don’t want to talk about those people I also add oregano. So if you don’t like one of the slices mentioned just don’t use it.

4 potatoes quartered
2 onions quartered
4 tomatoes quartered
1tsp cumin
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of half a lemon
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup water
