The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) is one of the simplest and most commonly used regression tools in machine learning. It allows to account for multicollinearity, reduce the magnitude of coefficients, and set the least important factors to zero. Today we are discussing LASSO, its loss function, similarities and differences to the conventional OLS regression, and learn how to apply it in Excel.
