June 11, 2013: at noon, the Greek government announces that, as a costcutting exercise, public broadcaster ERT will be closed down not at some point in the faraway future, but later that same day. This is what the end of ERT's international channel ERT World looked like on the Hotbird satellite footage of people walking through a gate, accompanied by a running commentary in Greek and then the screen goes black, at 11.41 pm local time. This is what the economical crisis looks like...

It looks like the Hotbird satellite feed (where this comes from) stayed on for longer than most local transmitters in Greece, and at the time of writing this, a web stream is still going strong and there is supposed to be a EBU stream out there I'm still trying to locate.
