It finally happened...winter ended! The season that is we've had some crazy snow and ice storms since spring officially started, so it sure looks like winter out there!

However, before all that happened, it was an early melt for the official winter recreation season, and I knew I needed to get one more overnight in the mountains.

Thankfully, the AMC Zealand Falls Hut had some bunk space left, so I got on the road and headed to the White Mountains from coastal Maine. As you will see, it was an eventful trip full of little things going wrong. But it was also wonderful and amazing to spend one more winter's night in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
