More strong wind and rain swept across the UK today, with winds gusting up to 44mph experienced at Bristol Airport. The wind was blowing from the South, directly across the EastWest runway. This easyJet Airbus A319 arriving from Amsterdam was forced to abort it's landing because of the challenging conditions. It looks like the left main gear just skimmed the ground but the variable wind made it difficult to get the aircraft firmly on the ground. The aircraft performed a 'go around' procedure and landed safely 15 minutes later on the second attempt. ✈

This was flight U26162/EZY24TA from Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS/EHAM), Netherlands. The first attempt was at 11:00am and the second at 11:14am. Aircraft involved was GEZAG, a 16.8 year old Airbus A319111.
