These exercises address the Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve that's involved in Meralgia Paresthetica, help stretch the muscles in the front of your hip, and create hip stability to keep it from coming back!

Meralgia Paresthetica is a condition where the Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve becomes entrapped and irritated. The LFCN is a sensory nerve that innervates the front and side of your thigh. When it becomes compressed or irritated, it results in tingling, numbness, burning, or pain in your thigh.

It can be easy to confuse Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Nerve entrapment with Femoral Nerve entrapment. They both originate from nerve roots of the lumbar spine and descend passing underneath the inguinal ligament that runs from the pubis bone to the anterior superior iliac spine (front part of your hip.) The easiest way to distinguish between the two of them is that the LFCN is purely a sensory nerve, while the femoral nerve has motor influence as well. If you're having weakness in the thigh, that's a sign the problem is more likely in the femoral nerve.
