In this video I will introduce the Leadshine Hybrid Servo Closed Loop Stepper Motors and Drivers from Cloudray Laser.

I Used the 3 Phase Leadshine Nema 23 Motor Model 573HBM201000
AND
the Leadshine Hybrid Servo Driver Model HBS57

The HybridServo Stepper motor has this encoder attached to the back of the motor, this encoder is what provides feedback to the driver communicating encoder cable.

Closed loop motors Advantages
it has a feedback encoder in the motor and allows the motor to communicate with the controller missed steps or reach limit
they have a lower operating temperature, that is, they run cooler than open loop stepper motors, the hybrid servo drive controls the required amps to the motor by increasing and decreasing as needed, so if the motor is not in motion then amps supplied to the motor are reduced.
Closedloop, eliminates loss of synchronization
Higher torque and higher speed
Reduced Motor Heating
Smoother motion and much quieter then regular stepper motors
No Tuning and always stable
Quick response, no delay and almost no settle time
High torque at starting and low speed, high 'stiffness' at standstill
They Offer "Servolike" performance at a much lower cost

Hybrid Servo Drive (closed loop driver)
Takes signal from the motor and processes info to correct motor movements, for example if it moves 4 steps and it was supposed to move 5 then it will move the motor 1 extra step needed.
If the motor is forced more than 90 degree turn on the axis it will trigger an alarm until the issue is corrected.

Options for the Hybrid Servo Drive
Using the RS232 port (optional cable and software required) you are able to reprogram the drive to suit your more advanced and specific requirements and access diagnostics.
