Back in 2015 Leandro was still competing as a middleweight and the difference in his game is noticeable compared to when he went up in weight in the later stage of his career.

Leandro Lo was a Brazilian JiuJitsu practitioner who was widely considered one of the best competitors of his generation.

Born on May 11, 1989 in São Paulo he was a black belt under Cicero Costha and won numerous prestigious titles throughout his career, including the IBJJF World Championships, Pan American Championships, European Championships, Brazilian Championships and the Abu Dhabi World Pro.

Lo was known for his aggressive and dynamic style of grappling, which made him a fan favorite and a dominant force on the competition scene. He also gained a reputation for his sportsmanship and humility, making him a role model for many aspiring jiujitsu practitioners. He was one of the few people to hold a win over Gordon Ryan at black belt, beating the nogi great on points in 2017.

Lo began his career training with PSLPB Cicero Costha before founding his own team, NS Brotherhood. He would also represent his friend Murilo Santana's team, Unity Jiu Jitsu, at the international level.

He died on August 7, 2022 after being shot in the head by an offduty military policeman in São Paulo, Brazil. As yet, his killer has not been brought to justice.
