Painting a realistic white animal portrait is hard. In this oil painting lesson I show you my painting process and explain how to integrate a white dog into its background convincingly. I explain why painting a white dog is difficult and give you painting techniques and tips to help you improve and get better in your own work.

The art materials used in this painting are: all purpose paper 280gsm, turpentine paint thinner, linseed oil. The oil paints are Windsor and Newton: lamp black, raw umber, raw sienna, indian red, cadmium red, indian yellow, cadmium yellow, titanium white.
