Learn Muscle Anatomy | Basic Lower Body Muscle Anatomy For Personal Trainers and Massage Therapists

Follow
Sorta Healthy Trainer Education

What's up guys Jeff from Sorta Healthy here! In today's video we'll be going over muscular anatomy for the lower body. In this video I aim to break down basic lower body muscle anatomy in a way that will be useful for personal trainers and massage therapists in particular.

Personal Trainers and massage therapists need to have a general understanding of the lower body muscles, but we don't need to be experts in all areas. Whether you're studying for a personal trainer certification exam, like your NASM, or ACE exam, or for an MBLEX exam, or maybe you're just looking for some muscle review , we've got you covered! Some of the muscle groups that we'll be focusing on in particular are:

The quadricep muscles
The hamstring muscles
The gluteus muscles
The TFL or Tensor Fasciae Latae
The Gastrocnemius and soleus
and many more!

We'll also be focusing in on different muscle actions such as flexion, extension, abduction, etc. We'll be breaking down these muscle motions because that will allow for a greater understanding of what muscles really do, and it will allow us to understand interactions between prime movers and antagonist muscles.

Thanks for the continued support everyone! It's very appreciated!
