The diaphragm is probably the most important breathing muscle we possess. By learning to engage the diaphragm, we can strengthen our diaphragm and other respiratory muscles. By doing this we can learn to control our breathing to a very high level.
Nose breathing using the diaphragm is also an essential part of training and exercise. With diaphragm control we can create stressors to challenge the body or engage the body’s ‘rest and digest’ relaxation response to quickly recover.
