Led Zeppelin WRONG? Displacement on guitar

Follow
GuitarLessonsVancouver

When I was a kid taking guitar lessons, I learned how to play Black Dog by Led Zeppelin, but somehow, that part after the main riff just always seems "wrong" to me the way the guitar keeps repeating the same notes but they don't "fit" over the drums. I was just a kid and didn't understand rhythmic displacement or how useful a technique it is for us guitar players.

In this guitar lessons you'll learn how to use displacement like Jimmy Page in your solos, riffs and more. Led Zeppelin used the technique of displacement in many of their guitar riffs including the song Black Dog, Kashmir, When the Levee Breaks, Houses of the Holy Learn how to play groups of 3, 5, and 7 over 4/4 time.
