The Battle of the Bulge or the Ardennes offensive was the last major German offensive on the Western Front during World War II which caught the allies by surprise.

On an early foggy winter morning on December 16, 1944, two tank and one combinedarms divisions under the command of Field Marshal Model suddenly surged into a breach in a narrow area defended by two American infantry divisions.

This operation was Hit ler's last attempt to change the outcome of the war.

Seeking to move to the coast of the English Channel and divide the Allied armies, the Germans struck in the Ardennes, a 75mile stretch front with dense forest, which was defended by inexperienced and exhausted American soldiers stationed there for r&r.

These soldiers were the first and last line of defense against Hit ler's war machine.
