Welcome to Lego Island! This project was a huge undertaking. I was inspired by the video of ‪@reubs‬ . They are working on a remake of the game and that got me thinking about how we can experience Lego Island in an interesting way. So that's where 360/VR came in to play.

First I had to extract the island mesh from the original game. It was quite surreal working with 3D models from the 90s. I spent so much time on that island and to see the inner workings was amazing. When the island was in place, I had to build all of the buildings and vehicles from the game. It was quite difficult the build everything accurately, so the keen viewer will spot some mistakes. After building the island, the textures for the faces and torso had to be made. Then it was time to animate! I wanted to show the most recognizable characters from the game. I couldn't do too many, because then the video would take months to make. Also balancing the interactions and the hidden helicopter pieces was tricky. The final render took multiple days to finish. It's the most ambitious project I've done on this channel and I'm quite proud of it. I hope you will like it and that the video brings back some great memories.
