Lemon juice turns brown on heating | Irreversible change | Chemistry

In this activity, we see an example of an irreversible change. An irreversible change is a change where an object cannot be taken back to its original state. We vigorously heat a piece of paper on which we have written a secret message using lemon juice. We see that as the paper is heated, the message appears as brown writing. This happens because heat turns the acid present in the lemon juice brown.
