Many sailors know how to "spring off" from dock, either driving into the forespring or back into the aft spring depending on wind and tide. But did you know how to "sprong off" your boat from dock? I just call it "The Basti" after my good friend and great sailor Bastian Hauck who showed it to me many years ago. A really handy manoeuvre! You can even turn around your boat 180 degrees if you, for instance, want to have the bow into the wind (and rain)! Harbour manoeuvre made easy!
