Text :
Smoking is a widespread significant issue that jeopardizes the health of millions. Initially seen as a source of fun, it can quickly turn into a challenging addiction to overcome. Nowadays, there's a noticeable trend of smoking among students. What motivates them to smoke, and what are the consequences of this habit?

Several factors contribute to smoking among students. Firstly, curiosity drives many to explore the experience of smoking, often starting as a form of entertainment. Additionally, family issues, such as witnessing parental conflicts, can lead some to pick up the habit. Many believe that smoking helps relieve daily stress, particularly from school. Lastly, students may imitate adult smokers to express their desire to appear more mature.

The consequences of smoking are numerous and serious. Primarily, it significantly increases the risk of cancer, leading to severe health issues that can ultimately result in death. Over time, smokers often develop respiratory problems, making physical activities difficult due to breathlessness. Additionally, nicotine addiction can lead to irritability and anger, especially when smokers find themselves without cigarettes.

In conclusion, smoking poses a continuous threat to both current users and future generations. The most effective approach is prevention, as the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure.”
