Let's Build a Foam Lazy Bee Step by Step

Let's build a foam Lazy Bee step by step! In this video I will take you easy to follow instructions on how to use a free set of plans (see link below) to build your own foam board Lazy Bee RC airplane, using 3/16" foam board. The Lazy Bee build is easy and makes for a fun sport airplane.

The Andy Clancy Designs Lazy Bee is an iconic RC model airplane. First designed in 1995, the
Clancy Aviation Lazy Bee has been an enduring design that captures a fun profile and look with exceptional slow flight capabilities, due to its oversize wing and light weight.

The Lazy Bee build uses 3/16" foam board and hot glue for all construction. Total weight is one pound, which makes for a well flying RC model airplane. Plus, the Andy Clancy Lazy Bee is a classic RC airplane.

The plans can be downloaded below, and show how to use any plan this size and use an enlargement factor to sketch out your desired model size right on the foam board. The is a great RC airplane to build for beginners as well.

This Lazy Bee use three channels of control for throttle, rudder and elevator. Acrylic poster paint was used for the final finish.
