Today we are diving into frequency shifting with the new Doepfer A1262 Frequency Shifter! Frequency shifting isn’t one of the most common effects, but it offers a lot of creative sound design options and patching possibilities. You can add textures and effects to synth lines, modulate or create percussive sounds, or just try and experiment with the frequency shifter in FM patches and feedback loops.
In this video I quickly explain the difference between pitch and frequency shifting, go over the functions and features of the A1262, and then start exploring some sounds with a series of patch ideas.
