Dr Elizabeth Bates joined University of Cumbria (UoC) in January 2011 and is currently Principal Lecturer in Psychology and Psychological Therapies and within the Institute of Health. Liz’s doctoral work (20082012) focused on exploring the personality and psychopathological predictors of men’s and women’s partner violence perpetration. Since 2012, she has focused her work on exploring the experiences of male victims of domestic abuse. Liz is also a trustee of the charity ManKind Initiative, a UK based charity supporting male victims of domestic abuse, and is the Chair of the Male Psychology section of the British Psychological Society.
