Today I'm just shooting the breeze and running a selection of rods in the toolbox to see some profiles. All these were ran at 100 amps since both 3/32 and 1/8 rods crossover that amperage. I'd liked to have stuck another 10 amps in the 308L. The Hyundai rods didn't do too badly, but they still run worse than competitors. The Lincoln Excalibur and Blue Demon 7018 ran very similar, but the Lincoln slag falls off every time while the Blue Demon is harder to remove. The Hobart 6011 is a great rod and priced well. The MG500 is pricey, but probably the best rod I've used. The 308L in this video was Hyundai as well, but actually is a great rod. Other 308L competitors tend to wet the toes in better though. While the 7014 ran well in this video, it tends to trap slag easily. Done with a 1957 Lincoln Idealarc 300/300 using a Lincoln Viking 3350 4C helmet.
