It's all about line weight and quality. Line weight can be important in a number of ways, and when you start out drawing and sketching it's important to have this concept in your head and work towards automatically varying your lines.

Line quality is also very personal, and as you develop you will, of course, develop your own style just like I have got very much my own style of line work.
