Eyes are tracking Tuesday afternoon and evening for severe thunderstorm potential in Iowa. There's a lot of junk clouds and rain holding north of I80 heading into the afternoon.
Clearing to the south is producing a more favorable severe setup, with most likely areas to see severe storms along and south of a line from Red Oak to Des Moines to Cedar Rapids after 3 p.m. Tuesday. With this clearing, some are moving into the upper 80s and low 90s with higher humidity — better ingredients for thunderstorms.
To the north, temps remain in the 60s and 70s with cloud cover holding.
