It’s finally here! We are asked all the time what living in the Transcona Suburb of Canterbury Park, Winnipeg MB is like? Well today we share an updated 2023 version of just what this area has to offer!

Canterbury Park is primarily a residential neighbourhood on the easternmost side of Winnipeg. Its borders are Gunn Street on the north, the Perimeter Highway on the east, Pandora Avenue East and Dugald Road on the South and Redonda Street on the West. Canterbury Park offers quiet suburb living while still providing ample amenities. Whether you be looking for an abundance of schools, recreation facilities, a plethora of local amenities, or simply a "safe haven", Canterbury Park Winnipeg Real Estate has something to offer you. Canterbury Park is your "gateway to getaway" as it offers quick and easy access to the perimeter highway making a weekend escape to the lake very easy. There is also still plenty of room to grow within the community as well. Canterbury Park is located approximately 14km from downtown and 24km from the airport.

Real Estate Trends
There is a mix of homes built in the area ranging in construction start dates from the 1970's2000's. There are newer homes in the more Southern, Canterbury Crossing portion still being built. Common floor plans include townhomes, bungalows, bilevels, cabovers, and twostorey homes. For the lifestyle choice of condominiums, Canterbury Park does offer a few projects, but the selection is limited.

Schools and Services
Canterbury Park belongs to the River East Transcona School Division, and houses three schools within its borders. There is one elementary school within the area: Harold Hatcher Elementary School. Other school options include Murdoch MacKay Collegiate, which is located on Redonda Street and is offered for students between Grades 912. College PierreElliottTrudeau is also located on Redonda street and is a French Immersion program that is also offered to students between Grades 912. All other levels of schooling (including French Immersion programs) are within a short distance to Canterbury Park, some still within walking distance as they are just beyond the technical "Redonda" border.

There are no major hospitals in the immediate area. However, the neighbourhood is less than 10 kilometers from the Concordia Hospital. The Concordia Hospital is part of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and partners with health care agencies and providers to serve the community of northeast Winnipeg.

Shopping
Canterbury Park is made up entirely of residential homes but it is in close proximity to amazing shopping located along Regent Avenue. Kildonan Place Shopping Centre, with more than 100 stores and services available is a popular destination for those living in the area. It is the largest enclosed shopping centre in the northeast quadrant of the city. The centre is anchored by. Surrounding the Kildonan Place Mall, there are a number of large retail outlets including; Costco, Canadian Tire, Winners, Home Depot, Superstore, Walmart, among others.

Entertainment and Recreation
Canterbury Park benefits from its close proximity to the wellestablished Transcona community. Ample opportunities exist to participate in a variety of recreation activities water sports, golf, hockey and more. You and your family can get the most out of top quality facilities and green spaces right in your own back yard. A couple of the surrounding amenities are; East End Community Club, located at 517 Pandora Avenue East, Transcona Centennial Pool, 1101 Wabasha Street, Transcona Golf & Country Club, 2120 Dugald Road, Crocus Park, 255 Redonda Street, and Transcona Optimist Park located at 875 McMeans Avenue East .
