I recently dragged home from the town dump a Coleman Powermate 5000 watt generator. The carburetor was beyond help and a new carburetor was purchased for $29.00 online. Normal maintenance was performed such as an oil change and filters. Afterwards, the generator sounded very strong and healthy afterwards.

For the heck of it, I wanted to find out if this generator will put out what it is rated for and within reasonable parameters such as voltage and Hz. It was a disappointment to find out that previous Chinese made big box store generators that I tested fell short which were a Champion 4000 watt generator and a a Chinese made Sportsman 2000 generator. Let's see how well the Coleman Powermate 5000 performs under various loads.
