Lokanarkavu is a prominent temple located near Memunda, close to Vadakara in Kozhikode district. Renowned through the North Malabar folk songs (Vadakkan Pattukal), the temple is also a hub for martial arts and ritualistic performances like Theyyam, and Thira.

Lokanarkavu holds a special place in Kerala's renaissance history. The antiuntouchability procession led by A.K.G. in 1927 and the journey through restricted paths in 1933 by M. Ramakurup for freedom of movement had a significant impact on Vadakara.

കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലയിലെ വടകരയിൽ മേമുണ്ടയ്ക്ക് അടുത്തുള്ള പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ക്ഷേത്രമാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ്.വടക്കൻ പാട്ടുകളിലൂടെ ലോകം അറിയുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രം. ആയോധന കലകളുടേയും തെയ്യം, തിറ മഹോത്സവങ്ങളുടേയും
കേന്ദ്രം കൂടിയാണ് ലോകനാർകാവ്.

കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ നവോത്ഥാന ചരിത്രത്തിലും ലോകനാർ കാവിന് പ്രത്യേക സ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്. 1927ൽ എ. കെ. ജി യുടെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തിൽ നടന്ന അയിത്തോച്ചാടന ജാഥയും 1933 ൽ സഞ്ചാര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനായി എം. രാമകുറുപ്പിൻ്റെ നേതൃത്ത്വത്തിൽ നിരോധിക്കപ്പെട്ട വഴികളിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ച സംഭവവും വടകരയെ ആകെ ഇളക്കി മറിച്ചിരുന്നു.
