Long Epic Day of Flying Model Airplanes

Part 2. When the forecast is for 03 mph but the temps will be hot & humid in the mid 90s, freeflighters will still be there. This film documents 40 hours of camping & flying at Wawa between 9.4 9.6.23 at Wawayanda, NY, starting with a 4PM arrival, ending two days later and an 8AM departure. Through it all, the heat conditions were as tough as I'd ever flown, although the smiles remained because of the mild breeze. We never drank so much water or ate as much watermelon. The sunsets & sunrises gave us beautifully colorful & foggy skies, allowing the birds to be framed as never before. This is the second & final episode, showing the last 24 hours of camping & flying on the field. Part one showed us the sunset and sunrise flights that began the 3 days of flying.    • Hot Day of Flying in Wawayanda

Filmed by Tom Hallman and Peter Kaiteris using a Canon PowerShot SX20 & iPhones 11Pro & 14Pro, and a Nikon D3400 70300mm.
Music: "Flight of the Inner Bird" by Yehezkel Raz, "An Awakening" by David Morton, "Looking Forward" by Balloon Planet, and "Withstand" by Kevin Graham via ArtList, who breathes life into my films.

A few notes on the Wacko from the designer:
The first fuselage bay is sheeted. Down thrust is built in. A 7" Peck prop is used with a braided 30" loop of 3/16" rubber. Wing and stab start as 1/16" thick "ladder frames", and cap ribs are added. The wing ribs are all cut to the same curve and spar spacing as shown on plan. Rib length set by slicing off bottom. Rib caps extend over the TE.
LE 3/32" sq. TE 3/16" x 1/16". Spars are 1/16" sq, double in first inboard bay.
Stab spar is 3/16" x 1/16" full depth, notched over the ladder frame rungs. Stab ribs are rectangular stock sanded to shape. Fin shape is laminated or from sheet pieces.
