INTRODUCTION
The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. This mausoleum is made of white marble. Its real name is "RauzaeMunavvar".

STRUCTURE
The complex of this mausoleum is spread over 42 acres. There is a minaret on each of the four corners of this mausoleum, whose height is 73 meters. In the middle of the mausoleum are the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan.

FAME
This mausoleum is one of the seven wonders of the world. In 1983, the Taj Mahal was included in the World Heritage by UNESCO. Every year millions of tourists come to see the beauty of this mausoleum.

ARCHITECTURAL STYLE
This mausoleum is an excellent example of Mughal architecture. Its architectural style is a unique combination of the components of Persian, Turkish, Indian and Islamic architecture.

WHO BUILT IT
The Taj Mahal was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal died just 4 years after Shahjahan took the throne.

After Mumtaz's death, Shahjahan vowed that he would build such a building which would not be equal to any other building in the world.

WHEN WAS THE TAJ MAHAL BUILT ?
The construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632 AD and this tomb was completed in 1653 AD. Shahjahan employed Afghan architect Ustad Ahmed Lahori to build the Taj Mahal.
20 thousand laborers worked day and night to build it.

ताज महल उत्तर प्रदेश के आगरा में यमुना नदी के तट पर स्थित एक मकबरा है। यह मकबरा सफेद संगमरमर से बना है।इसका असली नाम "रौजा ए मुनव्वर" है।

बनावट
इस मकबरे का परिसर 42 एकड़ में फैला है। इस मकबरे के चारो कोनो पर एक एक मिनार बनी हुई है जिनकी ऊंचाई 73 मीटर है। मकबरे में मध्य में मुमताज महल और शाहजहां की कब्रें है।

प्रसिद्धि
यह मकबरा विश्व के सात आश्चर्यों में से एक है।सन् १९८३ में, ताजमहल युनेस्को द्वारा विश्व धरोहर में शामिल किया गया था।प्रत्येक वर्ष लाखो पर्यटक इस मकबरे की सुंदरता को देखने आते है।

वास्तु शैली
यह मकबरा मुगल वास्तुकला का उत्कृष्ट नमूना है। इसकी वास्तु शैली फ़ारसी, तुर्क, भारतीय और इस्लामी वास्तुकला के घटकों का अनोखा सम्मिलन है।

किसने बनवाया था
ताज महल को मुगल बादशाह शाहजहां ने अपनी पत्नी मुमताज महल की याद में बनवाया था। शाहजहा के गद्दी सम्हालने के महज 4 साल बाद ही मुमताज महल की मृत्यु हो गई थी।
मुमताज की मौत के बाद शाहजहां ने कसम खाई थी कि वो ऐसी इमारत बनवाएंगे, जिसके बराबर की दुनिया में कोई दूसरी इमारत नहीं होगी।

ताजमहल कब बना था
ताज महल का निर्माण कार्य 1632 ई में प्रारंभ हुआ था और यह मकबरा 1653 ई में बनकर तैयार हुआ था।ताज महल के निर्माण के लिए शाहजहां ने अफगानी आर्किटेक्ट उस्ताद अहमद लाहौरी को लगाया था।
इसे बनाने के लिए 20 हजार मजदूरों ने दिन रात काम किए थे।
