Short Line Railroad Cincinnati Eastern Railroad Getting Busy On The Peavine Line. 2 Locomotives Working Hard To Move The Longest Train Of The Year So Far. This Is A Rock Train With Storage Cars, Grain Cars & Orange Gondolas. Includes Epic Shot Of Canadian Pacific Railway Steam Train On Tight Curves Next To Flooded Mississippi River In Iowa. The Empress Steam Locomotive Is On Its Way Back To Canada After Running All The Way To Mexico And Setting Distance Records. I chased the steam train from Davenport, Iowa almost to Minnesota. Then I drove through Wisconsin and filmed trains in a couple of towns in Illinois that I have never visited.
I was at home working on an Iowa train video when I heard the CCET train on my scanner say that they were entering Sardinia. The new owners took over just two days earlier so I decided to film the first eastbound train under new ownership. I caught up to the train as it was leaving Sardinia.
The first scene is Macon, Ohio. The train is cresting the slight grade and crossing the highway railroad crossing with the old N&W color position lights near the road. This train is one of the longest ever on this line under CCET and I decided to chase it to film the other side also.
The next scene is on the western edge of Winchester, Ohio. The train is coming under Rt32 and crossing the cross buck protected railroad crossing on Dorsey Road. Right after it passed me the train did some switching in Winchester for the grain elevator.
Next we see the Canadian Pacific Railway steam train on its way back to Canada after touring their rails in Mexico. The steam engine is 94 years old and is an oil burner. I have a lot of video of it so keep checking my channel because I will post the videos as soon as I can. Listen to the steam locomotive as it blows the whistle for the railroad crossing in Buena Vista, Iowa. To me it sounds like something in the movie Jurassic Park.
